What a week with this hot and humid weather during which we held COF's first horse Camp! The ponies (Morgans off course) and one of the Standardbred rescues, Barndodge were the best! 6 girls and a boy participated. We had three volunteers to help. Grooming, saddling, cleaning stalls, farrier visits, riding lessons, lessons in horsemanship, and trail rides were all part of the mix. Additionally, we did artwork with colors and crayons with books donated by the Salem Art County League and paints, crayons and drinks from Agnes Leaming, Thank you!! We collected wildflowers and made framed collages and of course, we went swimming...Camp ended with face painting and a great thank you to Siobhan Davis for the wonderful instruction and patience she gave. COF was proud to support this effort and hopes we can stimulate more love of horses as well as art. See us next year for another Camp. Additionally, Siobhan is a certified therapeutic instructor and gives lessons at Chapter One Farms.
A special thanks to our Volunteers!
